The Spiritual Teachings are the Age Old Truths which have guided humanity since the dawn of time. Sometimes forming the basis of various religions, sometimes standing outside them, they answer the eternal Who? Where? Why? What? questions of Life, Death and Beyond. They have been called "inner hidden wisdoms" or the ESOTERIC TRUTHS, for they remain hidden until we are ready to seek and learn and grow. In our turbulent times they are specially relevant, bringing meaning and purpose to life's seemingly inexplicable events. Gita is a Spiritual Education Centre. Courses are available in a multitude of topics, all of which are designed to enhance our understanding of self and the world into which we have chosen to incarnate. They are a roadmap for us to become all we came to be - Spiritual Beings Having a Human Experience!
Meditation is a natural function of our beingness. We have lost touch with it due to years of left - brain functioning. Modern brain research explains many of the ancient techniques and gives us access to greater understanding of why our brain sometimes runs out of control. This time - proven Course introduces you to 7 simple techniques which move you closer to this natural meditation state of being. It explains how and why these techniques work, and allows you to practically experience the benefits for yourself.

The Long Journey
The long Journey sets our greater understanding of the Spiritual
Journey. The evolution of Spirit in matter has been a long long Jounrye
- one of which we are all a part.
Where and why did it start?
What is its purpose?
Where is it heading?
This unit explores the
evolution of Spirit from Creation to now
- an awareness of the 'Big Bang' from spiritual and scientific
perspectives and what that really means in human terms. It also sets the pattern for Spiritual as well as evolutionary
unfoldment, allowing us to see a little more clearly the many, different paths
the evolving spiritual awareness has taken.
A Course to stretch your horizons to see the bigger picture and your
place in it all. Not for the faint hearted but definitely will re-shape
your vision of the world!!

THE TIBETAN
"An overview of the teachings of the Tibetan Master Djwhal Khul as givern to Alice Bailey."
The 24 Volumes of A.A.B. constitute an amazing encyclopedia of the Eternal Wisdom Teachings in modern language. The great Rishis brought these teachings to humankind in the mid period of Atlantis. When Atlantis was destroyed they moved to Egypt and the Himalayas. The Himalayan tradition has these teachings recorderd as the Upanishads, a collection of wisdom writings from undated antiquity, which form the basis of so many of our worlds ethical systems, regardless of ethnic or religious origins.
Down through the ages the Masters of Wisdom have updated these teachings reframing them in terms more appropriate to the times and mankinds development. We are probably familiar with the Vedas, Baghavad Gita, Hatha Yoga, Pradipika and many other updates the masters gave over the centuries. Also with the work of Madam Blavatsky - The Voice of Isis, and the Secret Doctrine which were given in the late 1800's.
In 1919 Alice Bailey started to write for Djwhal Khul beginning a task taking thirty years and encompassing a vast range of teaching material, all of it being extension and deeper understandings of all that had been previously given and relating it to modern scientific discoveries, including physics and medicine. It is an exciting time to be learning and to be able to see what the ancient Yogis had discovered is the same as what our modern scientists are discovering today.

THE YOGIC INITIATIONS OF JESUS
People often ask how Jesus of the BIBLE fits with the Yogic Philosophy? Does the Yogic Philosophy contradict the Biblical teachings? Will I have to change my beliefs? What if I am Hindu or Jewish or.....?
Having come from a very strong Christian background, active in youth groups, lay preaching and teaching Sunday School, I can honestly say an emphatic 'NO'!
It will however, broaden your horizons and deepen your spiritual resources and put the Biblical Jesus into a much larger context.
Jesus of the Bible was a very good example of a Yogi -- an enlightened human who mastered the major lessons of life and left us a roadmap to follow, so that we too could become enlightened. That is why he said "follow me". He wasn't playing 'follow the leader' around Palestine. He was a living example of the potential hidden within each one of us.
Starts TUESDAY 31 JANUARY 2012 7-8pm with Lucille Wood.

3. TEACHING THE HIDDEN WISDOMS IN YOGIC PHILOSOPHY
The difficulties and pressures of life today push people to ask the why questions - why me? why now why this?
The Eternal Wisdom teachings have held the answers down through the
ages for those who are ready to explore and learn from them. This
Course is for teachers who are ready to go beyond the physicality of
Hatha Yoga teaching and introduce their students to the basics of the
deeper aspects of Yogic philosophy.
4. TEACHING PRANAYAMA
The art of breathing is all but lost - along with the wealth of
information and understandings that underpin conscious, effective
breathing. Explore the wisdom, behind the breath and distribution of
prana and unlock the health and vitality it holds. This Course includes
familiar and lesser known pranayama and how to teach them effectively.
5. TEACHING YOGA TO CHILDREN
This Course, based on Di's many years of experience is far more than
creating an interesting and entertaining Yoga program suitable for
children. It explores the Spiritual connections, the hormonal changes
and the Soul’s purpose for this life, as well as acknowledging the age
related needs, developmental stages and changes.
6. TEACHING PRE NATAL YOGA
Teaching Pre-Natal is about nurturing the incoming Soul and its chosen
parents. It is about balancing the hormones as the body builds a new
life within the mother. It is about supporting the partnership and the
changing roles within it. All this and more - including suitable
postures and pranayamas for the mother to be!
7. ANATOMY, PHYSIOLOGY AND HEALTH FOR TEACHERS
Many of our students will have no idea what is inside their skin! To be
able to teach with a clear understanding of the body structure and
mechanics, enriches our students ability to enjoy their yoga. Learn how
to enrich that experience with a knowledge of the energies and forces
which empower and vitalise the body. We are more then we appear be!
Explore this, and more,as we draw on the ancient yogic texts and modern
scientific research in this ‘full-on' Course.
8. ETHICS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KARMA FOR TEACHERS
In a world fraught with litigation and challenge, it is vital that
teachers understand their role clearly. This relates to our Spiritual
responsibilities as well, especially as Karma continues from life to
life and difficulties experienced now, or in the future, may well be
related to our past actions!
9. TECHNIQUES FOR TEACHING IN A CHANGING WORLD
Boardrooms, school gyms, and many other class settings create
challenges for teachers, never experienced before. How to handle the
visually impaired or physically limited student? How to deal with the
interruptions and noise of thoughtless neighbours? How to handle
students’ questions and challenges. To teach effectively in a changing
and challenging world is our aim!
10. THE HIDDEN WISDOMS IN YOGIC PHILOSOPHY
The question is often asked ”Just what is the Philosophy behind the
Yoga? What is the theory, the thinking, the deeper wisdoms which
underpin this age old way of living?” Understanding the ‘why’ of
something always enriches us and helps us to improve the ‘how to’s’.
Join us for this overview and insight into the deeper teachings in yoga.
Please
call us on (03) 9416 3272 to indicate your interest in any of these
Courses. They are open to all Gita trained teachers and teachers who are
members of the Yoga Teachers Association Of Australia (YTAA).
Everyone needs a little help now and then, especially in today’s busy, impersonal world. Supportive services are for the whole person! One of the first lessons in yoga is about Self Responsibility - the responsibility each of us has to take care of ourselves well, in order that we do not become a burden on others (it is a well known fact, that it takes at least three people to look after one bedridden person!) Hence it is vital that we support our yogic efforts to be healthy with other synergistic services.
The Gita Library houses a unique collection of Yoga and Health related books, many of which are out of print classics, as well as modern texts dealing with Research, Medical and Scientific information. There is also a Biography and Travel section, along with journals, research papers and periodicals associated with yoga . The Library is always open for reading, and books may be borrowed by Gita library members.

Reflexology with Robyn and Lorraine
Reflexology is based on the understanding that a microcosm of our entire body is represented in our feet, hands and other areas of the body. It is preventative and holistic, activating the body's natural healing powers and returning it to a state of equilibrium. Reflex points are gently stimulated to activate healing within the corresponding areas of the body. We believe that Reflexology and Gita Yoga compliment one another as both have specific focus on the energy and endocrine systems in the body and work to bring the body back to homeostasis.
Robyn Lyons has been teaching Gita Yoga since 1985 and received her Diploma in Reflexology from the Australian College of Natural Medicine in 2005. Lorraine McCleave is also available for Reflexology treatments.

Essence Therapy, Topical work, Acu-ear points, Imagery, and discussion that
