Full moon meditation

Every month at the time of the full Moon, a flood of energy is released into our Earth’s atmosphere. The energy comes from the Cosmos, via our Sun, the source of light, life and energy for our planet.

The energy is always flowing towards Earth, but is at its fullest and strongest when we observe the moon full. The moon itself has no life or spiritual energy, but acts as a mirror, reflecting the Sun’s spiritual energies to Earth, like a mobile phone relay station.

The increase of electro magnetic energy can be measured scientifically at full Moon. Its effect upon the human nervous system is well known and documented medically. It is this increased vibration which will allow us to reach our highest and best - to dedicate our energies toward supporting the peaceful evolution of humanity. (Naturally, if our nervous systems are fragile, or damaged with drugs and alcohol, then the increased energy tends to stimulate the negative and unhealthy aspects of our being.)

At Gita, we join together at the time of the full moon as a community of conscious beings, seeking to uplift humanity to help create a more peaceful world. We work with the specific zodiac month energy and the lessons inherent within it, in deep meditation.

The gatherings are one hour duration and commence and conclude promptly. Participants must be able to sit in stillness and focus for the hour, in order not to disturb others. All welcome.

Yoga retreats

We all want "time out" sometimes - whether it's an hour, a day, a week or longer.Time out to change the patterns and habits which are no longer serving our best interest. Space in which to pause, re- group and re-energise before we tackle the busy world again.

If Gita is the “modern ashram”, then Maya Resort in Ubud is Gita’s retreat haven – like a 21st century monastery retreat away from the frenetic world.  Green, open, silent, lush, peaceful – its open cloistered buildings and courtyards invite the inner journey.
Its seclusion (nestled in a loop of the Petanu River) creates a sense of security and privacy unrivalled anywhere else we’ve seen. The entire 10 hectares are laid out according to feng shui principles – which enhances the seamless flowing peace everywhere.

A true Retreat is an inner journey, with oneness experienced as we share with the natural rainforest…..and with others of the group at times for yoga, study, discussion, relaxation and meditation.

Our next Bali retreat will be held in January 2011
NURTURE YOURSELF!

at MAYA UBUD, BALI

Come and join us in beatiful surroundings in the mountains in Ubud, Bali for some physical and spiritual renewal.  Times of silence.  Times of action.  Times of pampering and stillness.  Times for you just to 'be'.  Good company, plenty of Yoga, healthy gourmet food and uplifting conversation.  Return rejuvenated and inspired, ready to face the busy world again.  Everyone is welcome.

"Each day we meet for yoga before breakfast and each day there is a wonderful group discussion and sometimes a relaxation session.  Group activities take shape around the needs of the individuals who choose to attend.  It feels gentle, it flows easily and at the same time it is profound.  I find these sessions enable me to open up to new possibilities."  - Lesley F.

Eight nights accomodation, economy air fares and late checkout, breakfast, 3 evening meals, all yoga, meditation, input sessions and extra treats.

Special events

THE SUMMER SOLSTICE

Will be a joyful summer festival leading into the Christmas Festival and the rich, sun filled days of the holiday season here in Melbourne.  With candle circles we review the year's achievments and celebrate its completion, ready for the the New Year ahead. Starts at 7.30pm Date (TBC)

THE WINTER SOLSTICE

Each year on the Saturday evening nearest to the Winter Solstice, when the night is darkest and longest, the Gita community joins together to re affirm the inner light - the point of Divinity within every atom of Being. The WINTER SOLSTICE, marks the time of least light here in the Southern Hemisphere and reminds us to focus inwardly on our own Spiritual light deep in the heart.

The Light Ceremony is a time of inspiration and inner renewal - a time when we are all reminded of our own inner light and of the person our Soul intended us to be. The 2010 Light Ceremony was on Sunday 20 June at 6.30pm for a 7.00pm start.  Please call us on 9416 3272 for further details.
